Larsen & Tubro (L&T) handled to pack Rs. 30,000 crore orders in the last 10 tens days of March, irrespective of the lockdown. The engineering expert had a loss of Rs. 12,000 crore in the last financial year on billing.
The L&T management said in January that though the business environment was challenging, they hoped for a recovery in the fourth quarter.
“We have won orders worth Rs 30,000 crore in the last 10 days of March despite the lockdown due to corona,” L&T chief executive SN Subrahmanyan told ET. “There are other orders worth Rs 15,000 crore where we are declared the lowest bidder and much of the processing to award the job to us is in progress. Because many government departments and agencies are not able to meet, the formal award is yet to take place and we are awaiting the same.”
